Alexandra Parade Sewer Upgrade Project
In December 2018, we completed essential works in your neighbourhood to prevent a sewer spill.
This year, we will be undertaking further works to complete the sewer upgrade to ensure it operates for decades to come.
The next step is to investigate the condition of the sewer. This will be done by removing sewerage from the pipe and inserting a video camera to look inside.
These works will take place during the night on Thursday 24 January, from 8.00pm to 5.00am. We anticipate this will take one night to complete.
When are works taking place?
We are undertaking emergency works on a section of sewer on Alexandra Parade between Brunswick and Napier Streets.
These works will be taking place on Alexandra Parade between Napier Street and Brunswick Street. Excavation works will be required near the intersection of Alexandra Parade and Brunswick Street.
- The works will start Thursday 20 December and will be day and night works that we anticipate will require up to 5 days to complete.
- We are working closely with VicRoads and the City of Yarra to ensure these works are undertaken as a matter or priority.
- The bypass sewer pump (City West Water Pump Site) located on Napier Street may be required to be operational during these times.
Traffic management will be in place to ensure pedestrians, cyclists and road users are able to use Alexandra Parade during these works. One left hand turn lane and one lane for through traffic on Alexandra Parade will be closed during this time.
